Sommelier Smackdown is Back!

Tuesday, April 21

Harborside East

6:30- til 9:30

If you think Sommeliers are all frilly, posh, and high-brow, think again. The sleeves will be rolled up, the corks popped, and the pairing wars will begin. While educating our guests on creating the perfect pairing in a friendly competitive atmosphere, Advanced Sommelier’s Patrick Emerson and Brad Ball will be returning for a rematch.  Both will be grappling for the satisfaction and agreement of your taste buds. Who will be center stage for the victory dance?  Will Brad retain his title or will Patrick emerge as this year’s winner of the crown? You will be the judge.

While providing a delicious meal and the opportunity to try several different wines and a specialty cocktail from The Firefly Distillery, our event also satisfies the itch for competition and heckling.  Everyone will receive a list of the wines served  and  the end of the evening, you will have the opportunity to place an order to purchase your favorite wine(s) of the evening.

Who should go? A lively, entertaining, and informative night, the Sommelier Smackdown is perfect for anyone in the over-21 crowd. If you’re interested in learning about pairing wine with food (cheap, boxed wine doesn’t always make the best BYO selection) or understanding the technique to tasting wine, the Smackdown is a great time to do so.
