Here are photos of some of our most recent "acts of kindness" from community friends:

Adaptive Gardens of the Lowcountry personnel from Thornhill Farm in McClellanville worked with Windwood's children twice monthly during the past year as part of their therapeutic program. This summer, Catherine McGuinn, Project Director, is helping Windwood establish an organic garden on the Windwood campus. Adaptive Gardens donated many plants to get the garden off to a healthy start this spring.

Saltwater Sports Club, Inc. took the boys on an outing in May, and what a great time our children and staff had! This is an annual event that everyone eagerly anticipates each spring, and this year's day on the water was better than ever!

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina awarded more than $500,000 in Responsive Grants to nine nonprofit and faith-based organizations across South Carolina on June 2nd. Above, Debbie McKelvey receives a check from Tom Keith, President, and Yvonne Tolley Or, Board Chair, of Sisters of Charity.

THANK YOU! to the East Cooper Rotary Breakfast Club for including Windwood Farm as one of their charities in the 2010 Rotary Duck Race on June 12th!

Lennar Carolina LLC not only built us a storage shed earlier this spring (pictured above), but President Bob Hilliard (left) and Mac Smith, Director of Construction, went a step further and presented Debbie McKelvey with a $5,000 check on June 14, 2010.

Site work has begun for the Wilkerson Arena at Windwood Farm. Many colleagues of the late Thomas S. Wilkerson of Charleston, WV, provided funds for the 72' x 72' covered arena. O. L. Thompson Construction Company began site work on June 14th. L. T. Builders LLC is scheduled to construct the arena later this summer.
Warren Hamilton has been teaching Windwood's children and staff about Bee Keeping. He established several bee hives at the farm last year and is working with the boys again this year to teach them the process involved in tending hives and making honey.
