Why is Windwood special to you?
“I was a special education coordinator for the school district and worked with Jody Tamsberg on the original professional advisory committee for Windwood. I retired from education after 35 years to work at Windwood and recently retired from Windwood after 11 years as Director of Community Based Services. I have watched Windwood grow from a group home for six boys into what it is today. Today, Windwood provides a therapeutic home for 25 boys; a clinic for therapy with children and families in the community; and, community based prevention services given within the privacy of families’ homes to strengthen families, deliver related tangible services, reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect, enhance parenting strategies and link families with needed community resources.”
