Be a Champion for a Child

Signs of Abuse or Neglect

  1. Shows sudden changes in behavior or school performance
  2. Has not received help for physical or medical problems brought to the parents’ attention
  3. Is always watchful, as though preparing for something bad to happen
  4. Lacks adult supervision
  5. Is overly compliant, passive or withdrawn
  6. Comes to school or other activities early, stays late and does not want to go home
  7. Is reluctant to be around a particular person
  8. Reports injury by a parent or another adult caregiver
  9. Is consistently dirty or has severe body odor
  10. Has difficulty walking or sitting
